Emmanuel Children's Home Project
Due to the great compassion and concern our Pastor has for the needy children and the welfare of our community, God put a burden on him to help needy children with school fees out of his meager income since 1978. After fifteen years, the number of needy children grew to unmanageable number for an individual, and by the grace of God, when he shared his idea to some well-wishers and friends, they were very positive. Looking at the needs of these children through eyes of compassion, God used him as an instrument to establish three Children homes in Kenya.
1. Neema Children’s Home.
2. Children’s Home for destitute.
3. Emmanuel Children’s Home.
The purpose of these homes were the relief of their need and the advancement of education in accordance with Christian principles, and in particular without discrimination to the generalization for the benefit of orphaned children, street children and children suffering from the effects of social and economic deprivation in Kenya. While still in Kenya, these homes enjoyed our Pastor’s visitation from time to time and also the generous donations from friends, but when he moved to the US, most of the help ceased. These homes are in dire need of help, as the economy continue to deteriorate, but the most hit is the Emmanuel Children’s Home. They are living from hand to mouth handout from well wishers.
The “Emmanuel Children’s Home” is located at Ndabibi in Naivasha district. Our Pastor and his wife visited them and took with them cloths and little token donated by I.C.C.A Church members. The lady in the photograph talking to our Pastor Mrs. Pauline Waweru is the director of the home, explaining to our Pastor the problems facing the institution and how they hardly gets enough money to cater for their needs. The home started in her house in 1998 with 25 children and after one year the number increased to 59 and by the year 2000 the number increased to 105. Later due to tribal clashes some ran away to unknown destination. The number goes up and down due to economic stress and currently there are 109 children as of March 2007, aged “between” one year and above.
The building which they are using as their classrooms are in a pathetic condition as you can see them on the photographs and needs a major repair. With your support, your will be blessed as you will become a special friend to a child living in extreme poverty and you can also be linked personally with these children that they may know you, write to you and pray for you. Your donation will help these children with; Basic health care, Education opportunities, Church- Sponsored activities that build social Skills, and most important an opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and grow their faith. Jesus said; “And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me”. Matthew 18:5
KJV
The world’s poorest children are often exposed to hunger and diseases. They are not able to attend schools and they suffer neglect and abuse. The call from the Lord is to provide these children of God with shelter, physical and spiritual needs. We know we can't change the whole world, but we can share hope and brighter future for these children through the love of Christ, and perhaps many more children during our lifetime. “We’ve only one life, and soon this will pass; only what we’ve done for Christ will last forever. You can help release at least one child from poverty in Jesus name by sending “Your tax deductible donation” through International Christians Community Anglican Church. There is no overhead cost because the I.C.C.A.Church has volunteered their efforts to help these Children and there is no employee and therefore all donations given will be sent 100% to Emmanuel Children’s Home.
